For my broader delivery track record, see Delivery.
Plans do not deliver themselves
Complex programmes have to connect decisions, people, suppliers, dependencies and changing evidence. When those parts drift apart, more reporting does not necessarily create more control.
I bring critical thinking into delivery: clarify the outcome, expose the constraints and coordinate the work needed to produce a result.
What we can cover
- Clarifying outcomes, scope, ownership and measures of success.
- Programme and project planning grounded in real dependencies.
- Coordinating teams, stakeholders and multiple suppliers.
- Identifying delivery risks, assumptions and blocked decisions.
- Recovering work that is under pressure or has lost direction.
- Using feedback to adapt the approach while protecting the outcome.
How the work happens
The engagement may be a focused diagnostic and recovery plan, interim hands-on leadership, or support through to an agreed outcome.
I agree scope, working pattern, governance and decision authority up front to fit the scale and urgency.
Understand the situation
We establish what must be delivered, what has already been decided and where reality differs from the plan.
Make the work visible
Outcomes, responsibilities, dependencies, constraints and decisions are made explicit.
Coordinate delivery
I work with the people and suppliers involved to turn priorities into action and address obstacles.
Learn and adapt
Evidence from delivery informs the next decision rather than being hidden by the original plan.
Control that connects to delivery
My delivery record includes multi-supplier transformation at Southwark, a secure CIO Council portal and the VisitScotland rescue.
My rapid recovery of the Government Spending Challenge earned praise from Nick Jones for my judgement and technical insight.
When this is useful
- A complex programme needs experienced coordination.
- Multiple teams or suppliers must work towards one outcome.
- Delivery is moving but priorities or ownership remain unclear.
- A programme needs recovery, decisive action or a credible route forward.
- Organisational change must become practical delivery.
When this isn’t the right fit
This is not the right fit if you only need a report or recommendations without hands-on responsibility for moving delivery forward. If the immediate need is to examine a decision before implementation rather than lead the resulting programme, a Decision Support Workshop is likely to be more useful.
Move from plan to outcome
Describe what must be delivered, the current difficulty and the people involved.
